The Gunnar Berg Ensemble are based in Salzburg, Austria and specialise in performing works by contemporary composers.
The Gunnar Berg Ensemble are made up of Chih-Hui Chang (cello), Barbara Blumenstingl, (flute) and Yvonne Zehner, (guitar).
They were invited to give a series of lectures and concerts in Scotland & Northern Ireland by Scottish Classical Guitarist Matthew McAllister, Irish Flautist Aisling Agnew and the Irish composer Greg Caffrey.
Their tour included performances & lectures in Bangor Town Hall, Edinburgh Napier University, Crail Parish Church Fife & St Andrews University.
The Austrian composer Klaus Ager also travelled with the ensemble and directed workshops in St Andrews and Napier Universities.
are there no 18th century Irish composers?? all i can find is modern stuff. what i want to find is an Irish composer who was good enough to accompany Farinelli !!
