An old-scool VW LT van (originally a 75Hp / 140Nm, 6 cylinder diesel enigne), upgraded with an Volvo 940 2.4 diesel Turbo Intercooler engine (122Hp / 240Nm)

With the original engine a 0-100km/h acceleration happens in 41.6 seconds. With the Volvo TIC engine is takes less than 20 seconds! (Not "officially" tested yet)

  • Sounds pretty good.

  • This is essentially what the Volvos used. Here in the U.S., this engine made it into the 240 series from 1980-85 and the 740/760 in 1983-86. The non-turbo version was cataloged for the 240 line only while the 740/760 had the turbo version only.

  • You guys made really good job there! but just a little bit more of power wouldn't hurt right? :) is it possible to fit any more powerful engine into this type of VW LT? and whats the fuel consumption of this thing?

  • Geweldig project. Zo komt zo een busje pas vooruit.
