My favourite song of all time. To take on a subject like the relationship between a mother who is a prostitute and her child is so brave. It's such a taboo subject that many would steer well clear. Is says a lot about Chrissie Hynde as songwriter and as human being that she had the balls to take it on and produced such a wonderful song. No mention of syringes or sordid sex. Chrissie brings to our attention what many of us don't appreciate. The love and resillience of a mum and her child.

This song helped me through a lot of dark days when trying to get access to my beautiful daughter. alaways reminds me of her

@spacepatrolman I don't think she'd like that. The Pretenders have always been a Cohesive act. Allthose who think its all about Chrissie are missing the best parts of the band. She is amazing but, Martin Chambers is a beast and probably the best rock drummer on the planet (as Chrissie says) This particular line-up had Adam Seymour he was an insurmountable addition to the band, he added a new sound and could play with expertise.
