dude. the g1 lacks the needed hardware for future updates compared to other phones. updates comes to call ANDROID PHONES. htc hero,magic,mytouch,g1,dream,ga laxy,g2 touch, etc.
the g1 will be getting the 1.6 donut update. but its unsure if the 2.0 eclair update will fit.
sd card will not increase the rom size.
the ROM size of the g1/dream is 256mb while other android phones have 512mb. the hardware is just not there.
I can expand my memory and go to the tmobile store to make my battery last longer, and i like my REAL key board, the virtual is okay but its not as user friendly as the g1s keyboard. I have both keyboards on android 1.5
the sd card is only good for storage of pic, music, docs, etc only on stock.
my g1 has the hero rom. with apps2sd and cache2sd. so i have plenty of internal memory and 90 something apps at the moment. i use atrackdog to keep track of my apps.
cupcake just sucks when its stock. i suggest rooting and loading up a custom rom.
