The morning session of the first day of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's three day teaching on Shantideva's "A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life" at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamsala, Indiia, at the request of a group from Southeast Asia from August 30 - September 1, 2011.

His Holiness speaks in both English and Tibetan. When he speaks in Tibetan there is a simultaneous English translation available. (www.dalailama.com)

  • I am hearing impaired. When are Dalai Lama's lectures going to be closed captioned? There are deaf & hard of hearing individuals out in the world who are interested in Tibetan Buddhism and the Dalai Lama's teachings and would like to have access. The translator of English is difficult to understand because of his accent and the volume is not loud enough to understand him.. I watch anyways even though I only catch 10% of what the Dalai Lama is saying I am practicing patience and tolerance.

  • I want so much to hear this, but I can't get the volume up.

  • "With breadful mouth, you cannot chant." :D

  • I love the messages of H.H. Dalai Lama. Thank you for providing his talks on YouTube. I wasn't interested in Buddhism or reading his books until I started watching videos of him on YouTube. His talks have answers to many of my doubts.

  • The beauty of Buddhism lies in the intellect involved in discovering the ultimate goal of the Buddha's teaching. Buddha encouraged his followers to analyze and reason. It is my belief that through this ultimate reasoning and meditation enlightenment can be found.

  • I wish he would drop the appellation "His Holiness"

    It's a wee bit pretentious.

How about just plain ol' 'Tenzin'? 'T-Bone' :)

  • Thank you so much for this wonderfull video, added to 1 of my playlists and favorites.

I hope many more people will learn from and enjoy this video and the excellent knowledge and wisdom of His Holiness The Dalai Lama and (Tibetan) buddhism.

  • Wonderful - beautiful - thanks so much for posting. Maybe I would just suggest the first 2 minutes be edited out as seems to have a problem with the audio and be repeated in any case. Beginning the video at about 2:25 is just perfect! thanks so much and hari om - love, light and laughter to all:)

  • Ciao è possibile la traduzione ,prego ,peace e amore
