@BarronGreig that's cool stuff your doing, I have always been interested in an all electric sports bike. I have the ninja 250r right now. Don't think I'll build my own as it seems to complicated and expensive. Maybe in 10 years or so when new battery technology allows for better power to weight ratio and costs less.
I have an electric rc truck that takes some pretty big batteries, but seeing the performance compared to the same truck but gas powered has convinced me that electric is the future.

How much did your batteries cost altogether for your electric ninja?

$50 per 20AH cell. I bought 75 cells and the total cost came to just under $4200 including shipping. The 75 included 3 spare cells. I ended up having to use one of those spare cells because of an irregularity in one of the Lexan cases I built rubbing through the side of the cell pouch at around 800 miles resulting in the cell puffing up and losing capacity.
You may have difficulty getting these particular cells now.
