RON HYNES RECORDED THIS SONG I DO BELIEVE BUT THIS THE STORY OF HOW IT CAME TO BE ron hynes did record this song but he didnt write iT THIS STORY CAME FROM ONE OF THE VIEWERS.. IT was written by my grandfather his name was mark walker he was born in tickle cove in 1846.He also wrote the antis of plate cove,girls from sweet bay, nellie neil,my little kettle,and down by jim longs stage!it is also rumored the he wrote the star of loggy bay as well!!but was best known for tickle cove pond!!he went to boston in 1906.he died in boston feb 28,1924 he was 78 year old!!

  • @dac186 Finally found a copy of "ANOTHER TIME - The Songs of Newfoundland" for which Ron Hynes recorded Ticklecove Pond. recorded/released 1991.

  • Yes, Ron Hynes did record this back in the 80s I believe. As far as I've been able to determine, it was only ever available on a Songs of Newfoundland compilation. Used to hear it on a Maritime Country radio program out of PEI. Heard it this past Friday on CBC Radio for the first time since.
