Did you send those snakes 20 miles North for me to find later? I just posted a video of two snakes in Karnes county and I shot them at the gate in the cattle pen. Those may be fighting, but it's still a mating ritual. Thanks for sharing. They are thick in that country. Snake lovers need to go catch as many as they can and love and cuddle them. We Texans won't mind at all. Hope they film it and post the love to show us how affectionate those deadly, poisonous snakes are. Great film!

This is actually two males fighting. The female is most likely watching nearby. Notice how each snake is trying to pin down the head of the other snake. The snake that pins down the other snakes head is essentially the winner. I have been lucky enough to see this up close and personal myself. This is part of the mating process, but the snakes in the video are not actually mating here, only fighting to win the female that I garantee is waiting and watching nearby.

Blue Indigos probably have a little to do with them not being very common but people are the main reason. I love the outdoors but and I hate to see something killed out of fear or lack of knowledge about the animal. Killing when they are close to a house is understandable but rattlesnake roundup will take their toll on these animals one day. They are as much of a part of Texas as anything else. This was a pretty neat video because this is a rare sight to see.
