It is true that animals have more rights than our disabled children. Here in New York, Aggravated Cruelty to a Companion Pet is a felony, yet Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person is still Only a misdemeanor. This must change in 2010!

Restraints, seclusion rooms, violence, why is this school sounding more and more like a prison??? And the way the kid was beat up like this and nothing was done to the perpetrator????!!!!! Is it any wonder why out school system is so poor as of late. I just read an article about upcoming available jobs in the near future. One job was a teaching job, and it claims one could get a teaching job without a teaching certificate. Things are just getting scarier these days.

there were places like woodrow wilson collage what were supposedly ment o help the disabled and yet they allowed non disabled attend who were extremly violent and they had self containment rooms and restrains, even had a disabled man hidden in there who had to be secluded cause he would kill people who were near him when he tried to eat

@freeatlast53 my son is 42lbs ..this treatment only instigates violence and aggression from any child. therefore programming a child to become violent...ever heard of positive behavior support training?

Restraints and seclusion is necessary in schools now a days. Without them there would be no way of protecting kids. But only when they are a threat to themself or others can this method be justified.

If you cant calm a child down then you call the police and call the parents. At no point is child restraint called for!

This an outrage! I want to get more involved in taking action against child abuse. More people need to be educated. Keep it up Anna!
