I agree with you on all counts except one: it has never been insinuated that Elliot & Olivia ever have been involved. There've been moments where they seem to have a deep (romantic?) connection, but it's been flat out stated that they never slept together.
I agree that DW & crew wrote in all the Alex/Olivia subtext & made insinuations (the necklaces, tearful goodbye, joyful reunion) to pull us (lesbian viewers) in.
Unfortunately, they were too gutless to make good on those teasers. =P

Yeah! You tell it like it is! I completely agree, every time these two are in a room I feel like the two of them are about grab each other by the collar and rip each other's shirt off and well...you know how it is.
