These pilots are seriously kick ass!

@southaustinbrass101 I'd rather say they have no idea about a sheer or microburst. Seems unbelievable for someone who did normal atpl and is a normal pilot, i know...

not always sunny in havana then...

@DavidMcMahon1 maybe cause it was in a latin country??????????????huh..

As a "rookie" aviator, I don't think I would have flown that approach - too many bad things could happen; and all at once! They "lucked out", and it made for a good story back at the bar, later on.

@rrikr1 maybe they had training in icing and wind shear? Our country is by no means a paragon of airline safety.

Is this Airbus?

Fucking dangerous! Underneath a Cell? Really??

That was the most irresponsible thing I've ever seen. It was a full stop landing because the flight crew gave themselves no outs. Climbing back into that mess would have been even worse then landing in it. Had he gotten wind shear on final he would have had no where to go and there would have been a very different conclusion to this landing. The FAA would have your license in a minute if it was a US flight crew that pulled something this reckless and was stupid enough to post it.

I'm a low-time CFI w/just over 400 hrs. This seems pretty stupid to me! Guess these guys have no fear of sheer or micro-bursts. Definitely gave themselves no out, and came in low to-boot- as the PAPI was showing 4 red right before touchdown.
