Moya (Máire) Brennan and Cormac De Barra perform "Green Fields of Gweedore" (Gaoth Dobhair) at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California on 14th September 2011 where they thrilled the audience. The VOICES & HARPS CDs (http://www.voicesandharps.com/) were flying off the shelf when it was over. The song, which Moya recorded with her family's band, Clannad on the album Fuaim (1982), describes the legendary beauty of her home turf in Donegal.

  • Beautiful. However, gaothdobhair is two words, Gaoth Dobhair :)

  • @Sportymike Yes indeed, and thanks. Your point is well made. I decided to go with one word because that's how it appears on the Clannad album, Fuaim. However, I also tagged this video with the two-word spelling. On her set list, Moya simply wrote the title of the song as: "The Green Fields of G" *lol*. ;-)
