That heavy shoryuken seemed really unnecessary, if that's what you're talking about. A light one would have gotten the job done, or at least left open a smaller window for punishment.

There was a big push for casuals to be into this game. Casuals need to buy the game to make capcom money and to give pros some fame. How many people bought Capcom Fighting Evolution or Street Fighter 3rd strike in comparison to SF4? I am guess that there are probably less first quarter sales.... (i dont have numbers so dont crucify me if i'm wrong)

also, don't forget that capcom was trying to get a lot of casual players into street fighter to revive it, which is probably why they went with the visual style and roster, versus what most hardcore players wanted. evertything looks familiar.
