I also bought those 7 books on ebay - first editions, signed. Funny stuff. That man should open a wacky writing college or something. Maybe we could compare the autographs ;)

I bought an autographed copy as well. The signature doesn't say John Swartzwelder in any way that I can make out. Kennydale (his self-publishing company) assured me it was really his signature. My theory is that it's the author's signature, but that his real name isn't "John Swartzwelder"--he likely gave himself a pseudonym years ago to protect his privacy. That would also explain his comment, "Too bad this isn't really John Swartzwelder". Whatever his name, he's a great writer.

@redshiftexperiment - Yeah, I know that the books are real, I own them all (I'm kind of a Swartzwelder junkie). The fact that they're actually signed by John is what I'm skeptical about because of his reclusiveness. He's one of the only writers that's never taken part in a commentary on any of the Simpsons DVD's (without being tricked). Hell, even Conan took time off when he was hosting Late Night to do commentary on a few episodes. But maybe they are legit. If so, nice find. :)

How I conquered your planet is also good.
The audio in this video is far too distracting from whatever message it is that you're trying to convey to the public.

I just looked it up on ebay, and saw that there is another set for sale. I didn't get that it actually was Kennydale selling these things. I'm pretty slow. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'm about to place my order.

@crummyfett OK ..no worries. Thanks for commenting and I know what you mean about being surprised. And I can see why you would want to be a swartzwelder junkie as the books are awesome to say the least!

I was pretty sure that they were fakes before you wrote it on the screen, as Swartzwelder is a notorious recluse. You'd have better luck finding the actual Holy Grail on ebay than something signed by John. He was one of the cornerstones of the Simpsons during their heyday (the first 8 seasons), and his books are hilarious. The Simpsons have been unwatchable for the last 10 seasons. I can't believe that Al Jean has let the show become so unfunny on his watch.

@crummyfett - not true. I didn't mean to say that the books were fake or that they were not signed by Swartzwelder. I was referring to the fact that I was wrong that the books had been for sale that long, but rather being reposted as soon as they sold. Truth be told, the seller on Amazon is kennydale books. This is the publishing company of all of the swartzwelder books and it is stated in the inside cover of the book. also the books are mentioned on simpson commentary. It is Swartzwelder.
