I'm doing a project for my school (Kihei Charter) and this is ridiculous. The "Garbage Patch" is twice the size of texas and 80% of it comes from land while the other 20% comes from ships. If we could all do something to help prevent this from getting any worse such as using canvas bags instead of plastic bags and by recycling everything that can be recycled,we can prevent this from getting any worse and maybe in the future fix what we,all people in all countries,have caused.
