Sorry this video is so long and boring. Skip to 10:33 if you don't want to see me showing the old OS before upgrading it.

  • Great video, thanks for showing the installation of the updated OS ROMs. I have a great affection for Acorn based computers and I think they were ahead of their time and the OS looks really good and pretty easy to get to grips with. I am sure you can sell that 80gb hard disk on. Whether you can get back your £30 is another story. So you have any retail games for this computer?

  • @DLiberator78 I don't have any original games for it, but I have downloaded some. I'm waiting for some 720K floppies so I can try them out.

  • And so another one is born :o)

I have an a3020 and was completely unaware of risk os before mark gave me one, love it now, great line of computers :o)

  • @RetroGamerVX I used them in school, RISC OS was the first OS I ever used, before I ever saw a DOS or Windows computer!

  • Wish i had one to try but there aren't acorns here in the u.s

  • @chairuser4 No RGB SCART or Acorns, you have it rough in the states ;-)

  • I miss the black "!BOOT" icon.

  • @shaurz Wow, it must have been like taking a step back when you went saw those systems after this :o)

  • I want one!

  • @UKRetroGames Yep getting the hard disk was a bit stupid in hindsight. Now I've wasted £30 on a disk which nobody will want! Maybe I can pawn it off to someone at work...

I will contact Mark from RetroClinic about the battery. It seems like you can use a AAA Ni-Cad to replace it, which is probably the best long term solution.
