I loved your Washboard Solo!!!

It's good to see a washboard player who is a musician in the band instead of just a novelty. You have my respect.

64,guit,bok & kin.... Thank you for the kudos. I have a great deal of fun with it. I have only seen a rare few washboard players that I consider true masters. I continually strive to be in that group. If you look here on YT there is a "madman" from I think the Czech republic. There are videos of him playing on a bridge in a river setting. He plays with it in his lap. a REAL MADMAN on the thing.

nice pickin Paul! what kind of board are you using?

@64xdotcom , hello and thank you for the kind words. It's a custom made one by a local furniture maker. The stiles and frame are curly maple, and the soap board, drain and supports are Hawaiian koa.. The plate is from a standard National 801 Brass King. I have also played (learned on) a National 701 Zinc King. It has a slight "bell type" sound to it. Not quite as staccato as the brass. Do you play?

Very nice! Do you use picks, or thimbles? How do you keep them from flying across the room? I had to make some gloves with snaps for myself. Just wondering. I love your playing!

@msmsry, Hello, Thank you for the compliment. I use regular sewing thimbles. My set of thimbles is about 35 years old. I have different sizes for each of the my eight fingers. 7 (pinky), 8 (ring), 10 (middle and index). I guess I have fat fingers because they stay on with friction. I also play with a little bit of a bend in the fingers so that when I tap, it forces the thimble on a little bit. I have seen the glove/thimble set done many times. Quite common. Thanks.
