Using Ben X Tan's Midi Controller source and adapting it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCQwNLKJlCU) i have created a VERY basic mouse for windows using Kinect!

The mouse looks for readings at a set depth then converts the location of it in the image to a location on the screen

It also monitors a bit further back (in depth) for another hand... when something in sensed there it will click,

as i said this is VERY basic and is just for an example of kinect potential!

Enjoy... will post the source and exe later if i get round to cleaning it up and making it 100 times better

  • Ditto to nozzenze, I'm interested in tinkering around with this. Please release the source when you have a chance, I'd love to contribute.

  • @ChanceGuard get . essexconsolerepairs . co . uk / kinecttouch :)

  • I would love to play with (and maybe improve!) the source, even in a POOP stage. There's no shame in releasing it when it's not perfect and you might even find that someone else can contribute important solutions to existing problems ...

    TLDR version: please rls kthx!

  • @nozzenze You can! essexconsolerepairs . co . uk / programs / openkinect / KinectTouchSource . rar

Although i have made a much better version where it can be calibrated for use on your own wall/pc screen without altering source code... i will release that version of source and a video shortly.. i mean like within the hour :)

  • well done this looks very promising i was hoping someone would do something like this

please post exe i would love to try this out :)

  • @resevilfour Thanks, its in a fairly poop stage as i speak and isnt 'usable' i dont think... when i develop something useful i will release the source / exe
