Boxing Day, celebrated on December 26th, is a foreign holiday to those of us born in the US. With such a peculiar name, we wondered why it is called 'Boxing Day'. Did people actually put on their gloves and box? Or was it about boxing presents..? Or was it something else altogether? This cute little piece gives you some insight into the modern Boxing Day celebrations and also the historical origins if the holiday itself.

  • Thanks for clearing up the mystery of Boxing Day as the Day of Goodwill.

Great feature from Sydney looks like a lot of fun.

The fog is down in Glasgow as I write this, you cant see 3 feet in front of you :-)

    Happy New Year Elizabeth!

Wishing you every success with your future projects.

  • Enjoyable tho' Sydney may be to visit, one need not travel halfway round the planet to interview folks regarding Boxing Day. Canada celebrates it as well.

  • Wow... that was like the most uninformative piece ever.
