@shiron236 Our basketball team did the same thing for baseline fouls. The coach hand-signals the player to pass to the forward from out of bounds, but instead alley-oops it to the center for the dunk.

Lots of these can be legitimate signs, but only really mean anything when done in order. Like say the 1st base coach taps his head twice, grabs his belt, and wipes his shoulder 3 times its a hit and run. But if he taps his head twice, grabs his belt and wipes his shoulder once it's nothing.
Could get confusing at times lol.

I play baseball, and what we got is call a "key". If you are signing without doing "key" sign, it's nothing. If you are doing random signs until you reach the "key" sign, then the next few sign is the actually signs.
