INTEGRALE VESTITO CHANNEL - The Saab 96 was driven most famously by Erik Carlsson, in many international rallies. His most famous successes were first in the 1960, 1961 and 1962 RAC Rallies and first in the 1962 and 1963 Monte Carlo Rallies. It was these successive, top-level victories that put the Saab 96 'on the map' and established its reputation for reliability and toughness. Carlsson also competed in the East African Safari Rally. Famous rallying names such as Simo Lampinen, Per Eklund, Pat Moss-Carlsson, Tom Trana, Stig Blomqvist and Carl Orrenius have also been connected with the Saab 96.

  • I would love to have a 1967 96 3 cylinder with the tank, again, (my first car)!

  • i wishd id had 1969 96 v4. 1970 96 v4. 1971 96 v4 and 1972 96 v4

  • Eric carlsson "på taket"!

("on the roof", from the swedish books, about a boy called Karlsson On the Roof, that lives on a roof and flies around with a propeller on his back)

  • I had a 4 stroke 96, 1968 vintage, brilliant car, bought from a field for £30 in 1980, needed a £1 clutch cylinder rubber and it passed MOT with no work!

It had a truly scary freewheel system/centrifugal clutch system you could operate by pulling a handle under the dash,: hit the accelerator off it went, let of accelerator, total freewheel, woke you up going downhill!

As with so many cars I had, should never have sold it but fell in love with an Alfa Romeo Veloce I seem to recall....

  • one of my all time cars and dreamcars i wishd id had some day a 3 96 1969-1972

  • Howls of delight seeing this...my first car, a '67 96 with the V-4 and the burgundy paint...what memories, some bad like the fragile transmission and some good like my first girlfriend in the back seat.!!!! Sigh, the car and the girl are long gone....

  • @SDBengtZ Love hate relationship. I've owned SAABs none left on the road, 6 BMWs 5 still going strong. Luck of the draw? Could be....... Anyway I smiled my ass off through this whole video.

  • Nice fastback

It is sure great to see how its zooms down the road and hugs the curves

    fun to watch

Also the front end almost looks like a jag

Its sad how cars now all look the same and have no distinct personality

I guess its because of fuel and weight restrictions has made auto aerodynamics such a concern that the automobiles are all pretty similar in looks and appearances

  • What a silly car... I want one.

  • this movie makes me happy! cause im a saab lover!
