Barack Obama Embraced By Germans In Berlin

What I took from yesterday's event is that the world is still eager to have America as their friend. It's simply been difficult because of the harsh policies that have been implemented by current and recent administrations. This is something that all American politicians should make note of.

The "us versus the world" mentality needs to be kicked out of Washington.

Americans who see foreign policy as merely the embodiment of military maneuvers and troop strategies will favor John McCain. Those who see positive relationship building and international dialogue as necessary components of foreign policy will support Obama.

When was the last time any of us saw the American flag on foreign soil while not being burned or stepped on? Yesterday there were thousands of American flags in the hands of American and foreign citizens, waving proudly.

This is an encouraging sign. Barack Obama has been able to capture the hearts not only of Americans, but people all around the world. This is something that can give America a running start towards rebuilding a positive reputation.
