With lower fuel cost and less emissions, many automakers and fleets are turning to compressed natural gas (CNG) as a vehicle fuel. Even though the fuel has been used in this capacity for decades, increasing prices of gasoline and growing concern for the environment has reignited interest. In this video we talk with Kathryn Clay, the executive director of the Drive Natural Gas Initiative, and Stephe Yborra, the director of market development at NGV America, about the growth, development and future of CNG in America.

Honda makes a CNG Civic. The Big Three all make heavy duty bifuel pickup trucks. Some vans are also available. Many conversions are available.

If you own a vehicle thats not CNG capable, what they dont tell you is, it will cost you 8-12 grand to convert the vehicle to CNG, while some think thats great, and you will pay cheaper at the pump, do the math, how long will it be for you to pay off your investment, then start saving money??? not worth it.

Back in the 80's while in the Air Force, I drove CNG pickup trucks, and it was great, easy to fuel up, and I think the engine ran better.
