TF2 Wrangler Hidden Function

Timeline:

July 8th, 2010 : Engineer Update, Wrangler added.

July 19th, 2010: Patched! (I like to think that this video had something to do with it)

FAQ:

1) Yes, this was a very real bug. It existed (as far as I know) since the beginning of the game. When a sentry was destroyed any in-route rockets became "de-teamed" and would damage either team. So even before the Wrangler, if you happened to wander in front of an enemy while a sentry rocket was headed their way and after the sentry had just been destroyed you could get teamkilled. But, with the introduction of the Wrangler, you could force rockets to fire at your teammates and time their arrival to destroy your sentry at the appropriate time.

2) Yes, the sniper in the video is a bot. I tested the bug on a few 24/7 2Fort servers but for the actual video I created my own server and used a bot. ("No human egos were harmed in the making of this video") After getting the sniper into place I switched teams and shot him several times with the scout pistol to bring his health down a bit. One sentry rocket will not kill a 125hp class at full health.

3) The music is the opening to Igor Stravinsky's "L'histoire du Soldat" (The Soldier's Tale). I thought it fit well and it's one of my favorite pieces. Maybe for my next TF2 video, I'll use some George Crumb.

@KarmineSpot It's sorta like Pipe Bomb spectating and Rocket Launcher spectating. You fire a bomb/grenade, and quickly switch to spectator before it explodes/makes impact. And, Eureka, you just did damage to somebody or something on your own team.

(Note that Pipe Bomb Spectating and Rocket Launcher Spectating, along with what's shown in this video, were all patched long ago.)
