The attempt by Goldikova to capture a fourth Breeders' Cup race fell short as Court Vision, the longest price in the TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) field at 64-1, won by a slim nose over Turallure.

"The years have taken their toll," said Goldikova's trainer Freddy Head. "She had a chance and ran a very good race. I am very proud."

Court Vision, purchased by B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm in August, was ridden by Robby Albarado. Previously trained by Rick Dutrow Jr., he was put in the hands of Dale Romans after the purchase. He had one prior start for Romans, finishing seventh in the Woodbine Mile (Can-I) Sept.18.

  • As big a fan I am of Goldikova, I too thought she should have been taken down and placed last. Courageous Cat was obvious, she clearly impeded him badly, but her drifting outward may have also cost Turallure the race. He's starting to move on the far outside, and has to drift out quite a few paths to avoid the chain reaction drifting out just in front of him. Having to drift all those paths, instead of a clear forward run may definitely have cost him the win here.

  • "Zenyatta had a chance to win three and failed" ugh talk about downplaying, they didn't even need to mention that. Plus their comment regarding Goldikova winning in '10 while super wide blatantly contradicts their gushing of Union Rags wide trip costing him the Juvenile. Best horse is the best horse, but only when their picks win apparently, which is far from all the time. Bailey was a great rider, but not too big a fan of these commentators.
