CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (April 6, 2009) The Magnificent Mile Art Festival celebrates its 18th anniversary on July 10 12, 2009, as Michigan Avenue is transformed into a first-class outdoor art showcase complete with 300 artists and $15 million in artwork available for sale. This is the perfect venue for Chicagos top art affair; on the Magnificent Mile, opposite the Wrigley building and along the Chicago River. Admission is free and open to the public.
Produced by Howard Alan Events, the Chicago Tribune Magnificent Mile Art Festival is ranked as one of the top outdoor art festivals in the country. The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America. Only our top exhibitors present their work at this show and the atmosphere of the bustling city makes for a spectacular event, comments Howard Alan, the festivals promoter.

Howard Alan Events stipulates that all artists are required to be on-site for the entire duration of the show. Artists and their professional white-tented display booths will line Michigan Avenue, transforming the area into a first-class outdoor art gallery. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally, asking questions about their art and inspirations. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photos, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics.
The Magnificent Mile Art Festival makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections. Howard Alan comments, In spite of todays economy people are still investing in art because art heals, art soothes; this is art that is handmade in America.
A portion of the proceeds from 18th Annual Chicago Tribune Magnificent Mile Art Festival will benefit the Chicago Tribune Foundation.
