After reading 265 comments, I detect virtually no intelligence here. Anyone here ever hear of Fathers P. B. Bagatti and J. T. Milik's "Gli Scavi del Dominus Flevit?" Basically, Bagatti (archaeologist) admits to Pius XII, that St. Peter (Simon bar Jonah) was never in Rome, and Pius XII accepts the finding. This does NOT disprove Christianity. It only exposes the grave errors of the ROMAN church. Romanism does NOT speak for all Christianity. The author of this thread is the worse kind of idiot.

Of course, what Jacobovici does not touch on is that in 1953, they found the bones of the historical counterpart of the mythical Kefas / St Peter: Simon barJonah. They found them in an ossuary IN JERUSALEM. The bones under St Peter's don't belong to Simon barJonah because he was never an apostle and he never went there! The tomb is dated about 50 ce. There are other ossuaries, one each named for "Mary", "Martha" and "Eleazar" and others with cross markings but zero evidence of Xianity anywhere.
