Encinitas and Miramar CA motocross in 1970

More 8mm home movies from AMA District 38 sportsman dirt bike racing in San Diego County in1970. This video shows scenes from four races (motocross and scrambles) during the 1970 summer period of April through September. Race locations were in the Encinitas mesa area and the Miramar mesa area, areas no doubt all built over with houses by now.

This is terrific footage. I grew up in both of these areas actually. Can anyone who reads this comment tell me about where "old mesa" and "new mesa" were in Encinitas? I have a theory where and I'm curious to see if I'm right. Thanks!

I grew up in uc use to ride threw the canyons to get to miamar to ride and thats where my dad in 1974 broke his leg didnt think i would find anything like this on youtube cool to see this.
