Thanks for sharing...I've been looking for instruction like this from the master for a while now. Only wish the toms weren't obstructing the view of the snare. However it is definitely great to be able to hear him go through various basic afrobeat grooves like this. Having a continuously opening/closing hi-hat gives so much opportunity for variety in the groove...such a simple thing but truly brilliant.
Its all about counterpoint and syncopation...an integral part of the 'Soca' art form in Trinidad & Tobago.
