Miku No Hana (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai) 【初音ミク】

Miku singing along with my attempt at playing "Naraku No Hana" (opening of "Higurashi No Naku Goro Ni Kai") on my keyboard.

This was my first time using MikuMikuDance, so I decided to keep it simple. I still think I made it look weird. This is also my first widescreen video, and it was actually necessary.

I played the music on my keyboard and had my computer recording both the audio (line out) and notes (MIDI out). Then I imported the recorded MIDI into Vocaloid2, removing the chords (keeping only the melody), changed a few things, and made Miku sing the lyrics. This way, I can play anything at all and Miku will always stay in sync without me having to tediously sync her notes.

How did you combine MMD and a real life video? If I could do that, then I could seriously spruce my videos up!

@xela12345 : In MMD, you can choose a background image. I made a solid blue (if I remember correctly) image, since there was no blue in the Miku model I used, exported the AVI on MMD, and and then applied something similar to a greenscreen filter on the video in my editing software. It basically removes parts of the video layer that are close to a colour you choose - not necessarily green (leaving only Miku, in this case). This is possible in a lot of video-editing programs now.

I thought there was something missing, and I thought a delay echo made it better and made the 4/4 beat more obvious. It's not something I'd normally resort to, though, because I don't usually like using echoes either...
