  • I believe it is a grain drying fan.

  • It's a baker fan. Its only purpose is to provide a load for an engine. There are a few pages you can find on google about them.

  • how long have you had it or how old is it

  • It will be 91 years old this year. It's not mine, it's part of the museum's collection.

  • I have a feeling back in the day it was used by gas tractors as well. That would make it an historical use of the fan. As a matter of fact I have a feeling this fan can be turned by whatever you hook up to it.

  • Back in the later days of the steam traction engine they held competitions to see which engine could turn the fan the fastest.

  • Then this is not a historically accurate use of a Baker fan. They are meant to be turned by steam engines.
