Tribal War Dance Produced By JayRezDaJoint
A Review By Rob Davis (Media Critic) July 28 at 9:14pm
JayRezDaJoint delivers another dubplate worthy in this instrumental work, retaining the sense of company that some of his other work necessarily afforded; like you have a good friend 'round your yard. However the twist here is that company is plural: It's one friend represented by the familiar take-it-in-its-stride persona observed on his other work of medium tempo with prominent swagger punctuated by the tight orchestral bass stabs. Meanwhile we are graced with the fluctuating company of a 2nd friend represented by this work venturing into skippy drum-and-bass on several occasions but not constant. This leaves an impression on the steady strolling first friend illustrated by the change in rhythms later in the track, almost like they are gaining a strength from weathering the hyper musings of the 2nd. The epic sound we have become familiar with in his past work prevails and welcome, creating a big but tight sound with the large hall reflections and the bass that helps underpin the striding rhythm.
