  • When the first UFCs started and there were no rules other than biting or eye gouging......there were MANY strikers who thought that "landing that one good strike" as the wrestler/jiu jitsu guy shot in would end the match. Go back and look....those strikers were VERY wrong! If a person gets set to punch and not defend the takedown first, they are a grappler's lunch meat. All of the strikers who have been successful against grapplers had to learn to defend the takedown first.

  • Seagal POWNED!!!!

  • Gene LeBell is a legend, good to see Gokor sitting in the background

  • @DrVoltage1 I disagree. A good wrestler will see the punch coming, and will avoid it, by a shot, head movement, arm/leg isolation, etc. That is why wrestlers dominate MMA much more than boxers. Sucker punch wins? Maybe for a punk. misses, without a crew, down fall. How do you handicap a boxer? Say no strikes? OK. Wrestling, Catch, Sambo, JJ, better chance of winning the fight.

  • If you want to learn to grapple Gene is the man he is a encyclopedia of knowledge on martial arts i have some of his dvd's and had some of his books and he is funny Bruce Lee even trained with him on wrestling and judo.

  • @Ljenkins9000 maybe thats why he's musician now. ha!

  • @ninjachelas Seagal thought that too, until Gene made him poop and pee his pants.

  • MMMM MAYBE STEVE SEAGAL CAN BEAT HIM HA!

  • bully!

  • @pacificimporters I highly disagree. When a wrestler goes for a slam/shoot, a good boxer will be able to deliver a full powered punch to the cereberal cortex, or the base of the spine and the skull. Then its game over. In a sport match, or a sparring match, you're handicapping the boxer alot. But by the same token you couldnt suplex the guy on his brain either... It really comes down to the fighters. 1 good punch or take down is all it takes.
