This is a clip of the first portable lighted disco dance floor that I made and sold about 10 years ago. My newer design that I now use has been modified to make it a little easier to transport and move around. It is a hugely popular rental at all types of events and especially at 70's disco parties.

If anyone remembers the short lived reality TV show "Monster House" on the Discovery Channel, I was one of the 5 builders on episode #3 "Disco House" and designed that floor.

I constantly get inquiries from all across the country asking about rentals. My floor is only available for rent in New England and New York. Anyplace else it just gets too expensive to transport.

For those of you that would like to build your own, I offer a custom design service and can sell you a set of plans, a materials & source list, along with the basic concept of operation so you can make any modifications to suit your needs.

  • Are you the same guy that was going to use lamp cord to wire it? Sorry but yes I do remember that episode.

  • To reply to the most recent comments. Show was fun. As I mentioned, 50% reality. 50% T.V. Steve someone was the host. Nice guy. Yes I was the one who wanted to use the lamp cord. It took Jason and me about an hour to set up the scene and get the cameras in place. I did design the floor, and that's what most of us took the time to build. They had a huge crew come in during the evenings to do tons of other work. I can't watch reality TV anymore as most of it I know is fake.

  • how was the experience working on monster house? (i loved the show sucks it got the can)

  • @demondragon45

50% reality 50% TV. The floor was my design but they had a crew finish it up as it is impossible for a few guys to do all that work in 5 days. I'm sure that's the way all of the other episodes went as well. Show was fun but still a lot of work. I wouldn't do it again. I'm sure it got the can because it cost too much to produce. They spent tons of money just on my episode (no.3) Even more on the subsequent ones. Like anything on TV, if it doesn't make any money it gets the can.

  • it doesnt project any light though it just flashes

  • That's what it is suppose to do.
