The Walking Assist device, Honda's experimental robot legs, is expected to help people who work standing or in a crouching position for a long time. It redistributes body weight along its frame and lightens the burden on workers' real legs.
@claudycherie BerkeleyBionics is working on one that just recently were sold to a selected number of clinics for around $100,000 each, they can only walk straight on flat surfaces but B.Bionics has promised to start selling the Home version in either 2012 or 2013. I'm guessing within 5-7 years their Exoskeleton will advance enough to make a person walk without cane/walker & on rough surfaces, including turning and getting up if it falls! I'm again guessing the home version would be around $30k.
