Lego Scanner

I made this with a few hours of free time at LeTourneau University. It uses the new Lego robotics system NXT. It will scan just about any dark shape you feed through it. It will then display it on the NXT screen during the entire scan. Pretty cool Huh? It's only limitation is due to the Legos themselves. The sensor cannot read the lines if they are not thick enough.

what part of the kit did you use??

I used the light sensor. Since I didn't have much time to play around with it, I just used the thick black lines to make it easier for the sensor to differentiate. You could probably make it a lot better like the other vids out there if you spent some time with it.

Well, hopefully next time I'll have a little more time (and parts) to do that. I wanted to make it nicer, but I just ran out of time before I had to turn the kit in. :-(
