*Yawn* Ron Paul is neither a genius nor a prophet, just someone who recognized problems just like a lot of other people did during the same period but for some reason has a following who think he's unique. Virtually everything he says in this video can be found being stated by other Republicans from Newt Gingrich to Bob Barr and many others from the early 90's on. Only they don't have the sycophant following still trying to drag his dead Presidential hopes across the finish line after 20 years

Scarborough is matter of factly and demonstrably wrong about RP being the "only one" who saw the collapse coming and his views being some how unique. There several videos here on Youtube of Bush officials and other Republican congressmen warning from 2001 through 2006 the dangers of Fannie and Freddie posed, urging urgent reform only to be rebuffed by Democrats claiming no problems existed and the critics were engaged in a racial witchhunt against Franklin Raines and potential black home buyers

Two reasons. 1. his views on foreign policy and Islamic terrorism are so far out of the main stream people and based on revisionist not to mention faulty history that people who would be inclined to support his economic views are compelled to reject him. 2. the history of human behavior shows that during hardship and crisis people gravitate towards government not away from it (the basis of Cloward-Piven) and now more people rely on government than support it so no chance of reversing the trends.
