A 9?! Really? Wow! That so impressive! ....Oh wait, no it isn't because I barely see a single game EVER get below a 7, and every single year there are about 20 or so games that get bombarded with perfect scores, even when they don't deserve them because games like Halo lower people's standards to "blow shit up"; which isn't necessarily BAD. I like blowing shit up. But I don't see how that lone offers a perfect 10 while story, concept, premise, characters and originality are all passing thoughts.
The reason you only ever see 7's and up is because mainstream reviewing companies don't do their job. They merely pander to the most popular games. Biased magazines sell more. IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, they're all the same.
The problem is that games just aren't respected as a storytelling medium. When people think video games, they think pong and Space Invaders. Over time, I think, people will start to realize the potential that video games have.
Yeah. On top of that, this game isn't all that fun once you pass the 45 minute mark. And the score system is pretty mediocre. I can slowly rip a guys limbs off one by one and turn his body to swiss cheese, and get a decent score, ore I can just use a bomb to blow him up, which for some reason gives me a much larger score.
Um, storytelling medium can be found in games like Ico, Mgs, and Re4. Your right that it hasn't been fully realized but its not all bad. i hope your right about people realizing their potential.
Our generation must have some really narrowminded, uneducated, and not to mention stupid people to need blood and gore. Mature, grownup people dont need this kind of shit. Get a life and learn to create something that isnt senseless.
