Wild and crazy commedian Steve Martin hit No. 17 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart with this funky 1978 ode to "The Boy King." I remember staying up late to watch my comedic idol perform "King Tut," dressed in Egyptian regalia on Saturday Night Live. I found this vinyl rarity at the record store last night and just had to have it. The backup band, the Toot Uncommons, is the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

  • I dont mind the instrumental on side B

  • The last time I heard this was 1979 :) I just looked it up on youtube now because I visited the real king tut in Cairo last week and his real tomb in Luxor today. Thanks for posting :)
