  • That looks like an M5 aid pack. They have been in use for a long time... since WW2, I think. Many medics still use them in one form or another... some of the high-end gear companies make a "modernized" version with molle webbing and stuff... looks like you have a nice one there.

  • @ blueridgebushcraft

    thanks for the info

  • Great vid. Looks like a great bag especially for the price. Would that kind of bag work for a decent day pack or is it not stiff enough?

  • I've been using it as one, but I'm used to the much thicker material, so it does seem flimsy

  • If you or someone can cut away the frays, sewn the loose patches down (but keep the makeshift pocket), add velcro to some places, you can turn that already good bag into a great bag. BTW, i know you got that bag for a surplus store, but can you find it online?

  • I looked all over for this one so I would know what it is, but never found it

  • Nice bag. :)

  • 20+ yrs ago I had a chance to buy one of these in new condition for 5$, I DIDNT buy it and have regreted every since then, I believe this is a medic airborne pack! Thats what i was told anyways! Good american surplus is the way to go! DONT worry about the TAG ENDS INSIDE THE BAG (THAT HAPPENS) with use NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!!!! Thats just extra webbing from the construction and doesnt hurt anything it just isnt pretty!! Cool bag, wish I bought one when I had the chance! Havent seen til now!!

  • That slit on the pouch could make a nice little hidden CCW pouch with some velcro.

  • yea a real handle would be alot better... but i guess what ever gets the job done is good...
