I'm not an expert on NH law but usually you will only serve that sentence if actually convicted of another crime. Probation is much more restrictive because you are technically still serving part of your jail sentence

Thanks for your reply BedsnHerts. So, it appears the "sentence" does sort of reek of "probation" (i.e. "you can't protest or exercise civil disobediance for one whole year or we're gonna toss your ass right into the Milford County can for a few months - pretty much sums it up then, right?). You gotta just love those authoritarian types and the games they play...

Sounds like it was a 45 day sentence suspended for 1 year.
So he stays out of jail for now but if he is convicted for something else within 1 year he has to serve 45 days (plus whatever the additional sentence is).

I didn't understand what Lauren (reporting from Milford District Court) was talking about when she said Mike Barsky would get 45 days in jail or 1 year of what? Did she say being "a good boy"? Is that what she said? It was kind of muffled. Did she mean probation?
Also, I can't recall. Was Mike's court appearance regarding wearing a hat in the courtroom previously? Or for trying to videotape in the courtroom?
Anyone?

Casual observer here but beautiful country indeed. I'd consider moving there, but am unsure about all that cold white stuff piled high alongside the roads many months of the year. I don't know how you do it - my instinct would say hibernate, ask questions in the spring. Keep up the great work, I really enjoy these!

I must say Keene does look like a very beautiful town. NH looks great. I can't wait to move there.
thanks Master for letting him wear a hat.

He should wear a white wig to court like the founders did.
