  • hi danngree, i would like to ask something. Is that knife sharp form top side? on that upper edge? thx for response

  • @Spanker866352 it dosent come that way, but i sharpened the top with little work.

  • How is the sheath retention? I have had CS grips stick to my clothes and come out the sheath. Have you had any problems ?

  • I havent had any problems with if falling out of the sheath. My only recommendation is that if you use the included bead chain, you put it through the second set of holes and not the top set. When it was on the top it had a tendency to twist around, but once I moved it down I havent had any more problems with it.

    Thank you,

    Danny

  • Thanks for the reply... I had my doubts and decided to buy the RAT IZULA instead. I'll probably still buy the Tokyo Spike in the future though.

    Thanks,

    Kayak17

  • Good choice the Izula is a great knife by a great knife company. I had a chance to play with one and i loved it. The only reason i bought the tokyo spike was because it was just so cheep haha. I'm planing on adding an izula to my collection soon.

    Thank you,

    Danny

  • @kayak17 yeah.... i said theres quite a few of them im not sure why you listed all those there, and tried to educate me on what a neck knife is for...lol in closing though its a matter of personal opinion as to the izula being the end all for small carbon steel

  • @Taud knifeworks usually has them, there are several other quality small carbon steel blades Becker Necker, Strider ED, Swamp Rat Swamp Warden, Pat Crawford Kasper, Tops Badger, Tops CQT mini, and etc. A neck knife would be employed as a last ditch tool for self-defense. As far as reach is concerned a three inch blade is plenty enough for self defense. I do not know of any blades that could perform what the izula can for cheaper. It has the finger grove at bottom.

  • @kayak17 which website is this that has them for 40$? thats a bit more reasonable but really any blade roughly the same size made of carbon steel like the izula will preform just as good at all those things you mentioned, doesnt have much length for defense tho they can be had for a lot less than that price, i ruled out the cs spike because of its lack of uses at its price point, for that matter the izula doesnt have a guard either

  • @Taud I own several Izulas now, they are worth every penny. They can be used as an EDC knife, self-defense, small survival/bushcraft knife, etc. The CS Spike is nice for a last ditch knife however, not for everyone when considering their is no guard so your hand can slip up. CS spike is nice if you take velcro strips and make a arm sheath to conceal under a shirt or jacket... If you look around you can find the Izula I for around 40 now.

  • @kayak17 let me know how that turns out, the izula seems rather expensive for what you get with it

  • @danngree the "jimping" on the sides is meant for a pinch grip. thats why its on the side

  • So the Tokyo spike is pretty much a spike shaped like a katana, right?

  • @FuKuNPVT this knife is not intended for throwing, it is purely for stabbing; using propper grips. it can be thrown yes, like every knife. not a good cutting edge on the blade, the edge form is to give it penetration power. given how thick it is, this knife will become increasingly difficult to sharpen, and will not cut deep due to a wedge effect.

  • @ScrappyCoco58 yo coco, this knife does not cut very well although it comes razor sharp. it is just the form of the blade, it is too thick and narrow to make good cuts.

it is really only good for self defense. to cut well you should have a wider and thinner blade, flat ground.

  • @untouchblz return it.
