Daggerfall Fun!

Using Boilerplate's character creation for Daggerfall I decided I'd give it a shot.

This is particularly a funny video, as I get the quest, FORGET to anchor a recall point and then find the "quest item" just around the corner.

I'm a total beginner at Daggerfall, but have fun.

I'm still lost in the beginning dungeon...I was hoping youtube would have something to help but it seems no one plays daggerfall anymore...leave it to me to be 13 years in the past...

The beginning dungeon is fairly linear I think and if you have trouble there you'll have trouble throughout!! The random quests are random dungeons with random spawn points for items etc. There are some fairly good tips to follow though. Hug right walls, take right turns ONLY as the map system is fairly poor - it usually helps/works and that's how I started out. Following that, you sort of get "used" to the looks of the dungeons and locations you're looking for..

Oh yes and if you ever make it past the beginner dungeon be sure to invest in the Recall spell. Either set it to the place you picked up the quest or outside the dungeon. It's a nightmare to back track through a dungeon otherwise because they are literally mazes :)... Hope this helps.

Although my last dungeon was once again the absolute opposite and ended after a three hour crawl ^^

But that's one of the things I always liked about this game. Your target can be anywhere in the dungeon and is not just waiting at you at the end, like it's the case with most games that involve dungeon crawling.

BTW I really like your Daggerfall videos.

Yep, it's definitely a lot of fun and very varied.

As for video uploading that's how we all get started. It was because of watching Boilerplate's videos that I made these. Perhaps you should check him out :).

Please, everybody, now that Daggerfall has been made available free, read up on the game at the Bethsoft forums before playing it. there are ways you can set up your character to make the starter dungeon very hard or much easier, and the same with the game overall. This is not like a modern game that holds your hand. If you don't have a weapon to kill a certain creature, that creature will kill you! There are basic skils/weapons etc you need, so check the Daggerfall forums first!!!
