Beauty & The Beasts Parts 1 & 2
2 x 23 minutes
An eye-opening account of the role of women in South African football - the women's national team, Banyana, Banyana, out classes the men's team but gets none of the status or the money. The film follows Banyana, Banyana as they prepare for and compete in the Fifth African Women's Championship hosted by Nigeria. A journey fraught with tension not just because of the sporting challenge but also because the team allege that the last time they visited Nigeria they were victims of a dirty tricks campaign which landed six of their number in hospital with poisoning.

Why do I so dislike this title?!! I just feel that women athletes, especially African women athletes are readily stigmatized by questions of their femininity and that this title seeks to exploit that stigmatization.
Anyway, yea negative off the field team dynamics will kill any team's hopes. And logistical difficulties will only exasperate the problems. Note to all soccer administrators.
How can I get access to the entire documentary?
