    No it wasn't. I served in the navy for 5 years, and heard MANY sonic booms. That was transonic and it's against the law for him to go supersonic. That was a prandtl-glauert singularity or "vapor cone" caused by compression. He's limited to .95 mach. The "crackle/boom" you thought you heard was caused be engine exhaust and the Doppler effect.

    No the noise you can hear is exhaust noise, if you want to get technical you could probably argue its transonic as some parts of the wing will propably be going supersonic, but the aircraft itself didn't break the sound barrier, there fore no boom! search for f-14 tomcat sonic boom, you'll see the difference..... Also stop being a keyboard warrior, just calm down......
