Hard to believe Neil Young wrote this a long time ago - kind of tongue n' cheek - wow - look how bad society can seem ~

WOW! Spectacular....... ;)

I like to listen to this song while high. It feels and sounds so much meaningful than it is already.

ginastarke2 blasphemy? Of course not. As a songwriter, having ones songs covered is the utmost compliment. The song has a life of it's own.

@kerrgal I understand. I know it's not about it and from years earlier but Don Henley's "New York Minute" Still gives me the chills. It was in my head the entire day when I was taking calls from NYC on 9/11 We all have our own associations
Back to this song: Is it blasphemy to like this version more than the original? Her voice softens the bleak lyrics.

BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS FOR A LOOOONG TIME

Seems realistic to me! Reality check. Not talking about whether it fits in the movies context!:)

kergal: The song came out in early 70's & the film in the late 90's. I empathize w/ you for your loss but let's not equate this song w/ THAT. There's no connection, obviously. "It's only castle's burning", for me, decries how humanity has become...well, fill in the blank.

Szép. A szövegét nem értem.

@hmscollingwood Hi. I think you misunderstood my comment, the asterisks are mine, for emphasis. I was just saying that I think the song lyric, "don't let it bring you down" could make people think of bringing the towers down. At least that was my reaction. I agree with you about the lyric "it's only castle's burning", it would conjure the towers burning and "it's only" is the total opposite of the affect of 9/11.
The most beautiful scene occured, while this song played in the background....it reminds me that i'm still human....
