David Lynch: Working with Marilyn Manson

Director David Lynch comments on working with Marilyn Manson and him as an artist.

Manson on Lynch:
"David Lynch has always been just artistically regardless of him as an installation or a painter or someone who puts his art somewhere other than in a film. Just simply as a filmmaker I have seen him as an overwhelming inspiration as an artist. Blue Velvet was the very first movie that I really attached myself to emotionally. I thought that it was, besides the colour pallet, the use of film speed and the combination of sexuality and violence and sound and the close ups, I think cinematography wise it's just brilliant. When I got to meet him, he's a very unusual guy - I mean he would say the same thing about me I'm sure."

It's funny reading people arguing about who are the IMPORTANT musicians and who are not. None of them are important. It's music of different kinds. I don't think plums are IMPORTANT and grapes are not. Oh those people that eat grapes are sooo fooled!! And I'm not even a Marilyn Manson fan at all. That doesn't mean some one else shouldn't enjoy his music. People are weird.
