A typical morning commuting by public transit in west suburban Downers Grove, Illinois... I board Pace bus route #821-Woodridge/Belmont Station at College Road & Walnut Ave at 7:35am, then ride it along the western periphery of the village of Downers Grove, through an industrial area, then to the Belmont Road Metra/BNSF Line station, where construction work is on-going to grade-separate the road from the railroad. The bus here is a NABI 30-footer, one of hundreds rostered by Pace. Numerous expresses, locals, and out-of-service equipment moves pass by the station, as commuters board for their trip into the city. I wait for a train leaving the station at about 8:10am, which makes all station stops on the BNSF Line until Hinsdale, then runs express to Chicago Union Station.
