  • Is it just me being blind/stupid or is the website down and no part 2 of this video? :( I really learned something from this and Mr. Smith is a really good instructor.

  • @Flashingdemon666 We're making some changes to the website and hope to have it up again in the near future. Thanks for the compliments on the video and David's instruction!

  • what would you like me to make a video of? Low stab, slash, over hand stab anything I dont really care.

  • @jeffyxin Do what David did - a diagonal slash.

  • Tha was way to much extra shit, he would have started punching you with his other hand and you would have been stabbed. And also once you get your other arm up and over, and you drop you got stabbed in the calf. I'm not some kid that doesn't know what he's talking about, I'm a blue belt in hapkido and I've been studying knife for the past few years so i know what I'm talking about.

  • @jeffyxin Then post a video showing us how it's done, hapkido expert.

  • I have trained and currently instruct edged weapon defense and I would point out that you come very close to risking a femoral artery cut! Watching it slower, two times it came into the inner thigh on the way down. A rigid steel blade will not be forgiving like the rubber trainer. If you can adjust that it's a good move. thanks

  • You can clearly see the sparring partner not even TRYING to cut the instructor... hmm...

  • You make some very good points, but good luck getting that control in a real fight. The threat is not gonna stand there like the assistant did. As you said, he is gonna pull the knife hand away, but the student never tried to act in that fashion. Also, he is gonna move toward the front to reorient & you are going to have a very hard time setting that arm bar. THEN, you are gonna drop to the ground & bring that big blade right over your femoral artery??? Not a bad tehnique, but not good either.

  • This is by far the best instructional video i've seen. You add the elements of events not working in your favor, which makes this realistic.

  • Very good video what I also appreciated that the knife wielding opponent is actually muscular and not some skrawny karate student. Basically, showing a method that would save your life against a person that could physically overpower you.

  • but cant u just break his shoulder once his down instead of disarming

  • Muy buena explicacion de los detalles de la tecnica.

  • just as good as other vidios i have seen- oldsgtmajusmc

  • @AllCombatDotNet No Offense but I was in US Special Operations ,and I was not always in Combat Situations Sometimes I was in undercover Operations. And the one thing my training always told me was 99% Of the time you don't know when someone has a knife,There is no such thing as a knife fight most of the time you wont see it till its to late.I was trained in Filipino Kali and Jujitsu.
