[01-Mar-2010] Opel will present the extended-range electric Opel Ampera. The five-door, four-seater Opel Ampera is on schedule to go into production late 2011. It carries the same design DNA as the Astra and the Insignia, Europe's Car of the Year 2009, yet it uses an electric propulsion technology called Voltec. Unlike other conventional electric propulsion systems, Voltec uses electricity as its primary power source and, later, gasoline as a means to generate electricity. This helps the Ampera overcome all issues related to the usual limited range of pure electric cars. Available video includes shots of the new Ampera.

  • Bad bad bad Make video!!! bad bad!!!

  • Damn it who`s unplugging the cables all the time?

  • @mikethk Yes... you'll have to... cause i can see some Idiots walking by an havin' fun by pulling your Plug

  • @cheesepuffchris you're right but you'll have charging stations at the camping, the supermarket, your working place, your furinture market, etc...

  • I don't think I would want to do that in the rain. ;-)

  • Thats the future. Within 20 years more likely less than that, oil will be too expensive for people to be able to afford running cars on petrol/diesel.

  • die spaltmaße am auto stimmen nicht -

das sehe ich von hier :)

  • @cheesepuffchris Big city's should invest in charging stations around parking lots. So should hypermarkets, etc. Offcourse powered by renewable energy sources.

  • what on earth??? why on earth does he keep coming and going?????
